Ruby Lee Cook

Ruby Lee Cook, age 85, of Germanton passed away April 11, 2021 from natural causes. She was the sixth born child to Julius C. Cook & Elsie Loraine Kiser Cook on August 21, 1935. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother J. C. Cook Jr. and three sisters Mary Belle Hill, Emma Goins and Bertie Mae Hill. She is survived by her daughter & son in law, Joyce & Timothy Hutchens & several nieces & nephews. She has three very special nieces & nephews, Tanya Hill Gardner, Brenda Hill & Jimmy Hill. Ruby also had two fur babies that she loved, Pearl & Biz. Ruby retired from Unifi, Inc., in Madison, previously known as Macfield, Inc. & Burlington Industries. She enjoyed working at her job, mowing her yard & planting flowers, tomatoes & turnip greens. She also had the luck omen of finding a four-leaf clover at any given time. She has been donating blood for decades & earned her 100 pints pin. Ruby will have a graveside funeral service on Wednesday April 14th at 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church in Germanton, where she was a member for many years. Pastor Kenny Heath will be conducting her funeral service. The pall bearers are: Jimmy Cook, Rodney Gardner, Rueben Hill, Jimmy Hill & Braden Gardner. The family welcomes memorial contributions as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers to the church cemetery fund. Faith Baptist Church 4145 Flat Shoals Rd Germanton NC 27019.
