Ruby Katherine Walker Davis, age 79, of King, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 5, 2025, at Priddy Manor Assisted Living.

Ruby was born on January 7, 1945, in Wyoming County, WV, to the late James Holly Walker and Augusta Willie Trump Walker. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and love.

Ruby retired from Thomasville Head Start in Thomasville, NC, where she dedicated her career to shaping the lives of young children.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved children: Kathy (James) Browning, Debra (Vernon) Adams, and Tammy (John) Gileo; her sister, Edna (Jerry) Bailey; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

She was reunited in Heaven with her husband of 56 years, Bobby Gene Davis; her siblings, Bobby Ray Walker, Russell Walker, Roy (Joyce) Walker, Rocy (Bertha) Walker, Ruth (Milton) Cason, Raymond Walker, Ella (Jay) Cook, and Johnny Walker; and her precious grandchild, Bobbi Ann Davis.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Priddy Manor Assisted Living and Mountain Valley Hospice for their compassionate care of Ruby in her final days.

A service to celebrate Ruby’s life will be announced at a later date.

Ruby’s legacy of love and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
