Mrs. Sally Jean Johnson, age 80, of Winston Salem, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2022 at SECU Hospice in Yadkinville.
Born in San Diego in November of 1941 to the late WM Skinner and Elizabeth Jenson, she moved to Nebraska in her childhood with her family, then back to San Diego where she met the love of her life and husband of 42 years, Cecil Johnson. After retirement, Mrs. Johnson and her husband moved back to his home state of Dobson, North Carolina, where they became involved with the local soup kitchen and food banks in Winston Salem. She had the biggest heart and would always lend a hand to someone in need, including devoting her spare time helping others in any way that she could. She loved gardening and being outside and loved being around people. She made an impact wherever she went, including with the many organizations with which she volunteered.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband Cecil Johnson, son Steven Creamer and her daughter Diane Kramer; stepsons, Eric Johnson and Colby Johnson; one grandchild Shana and great granddaughter Ruby.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Linda Allen.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be conducted April 28, 2022 at Clemmons United Methodist Church at 11am with Pastor John Fitzgerald officiating.
