Sammie Lee (Mickey) Beasley

Sammie Lee (Mickey) Beasley, 92, passed away unexpectedly to be with the Lord on February 22, 2023 at her home in Westfield. 

She was born on December 8, 1930 in Quaker Gap (Stokes County) to the late Sam W. and Mabel Coffer Mickey. She attended Nancy Reynolds School and was an excellent student. She graduated from King High School in 1949. She was always a devoted homemaker and loving mother of four sons.

Mrs. Beasley is survived by sons; Melvin Beasley, Dale Beasley, David Beasley and wife Sandra; and James Beasley; brother, George Mickey; and four grandchildren, Silas Beasley, Lucius Beasley, Benjamin Thompson and Amy Muller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Beasley and brother, Norman Henry Mickey.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for St. Joseph’s Indian School and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
