Samuel "Steve" Stevenson Greenway

Mr. Samuel Stevenson Greenway, age 83, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on December 4, 2022. at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living in Mount Airy.

He was born on June 11, 1939, in Polk County to the late Samuel Watson Greenway and Lois Willard Greenway.

Mr. Greenway worked as an independent insurance agent and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pilot Mountain.  He graduated from Tryon High School and Asheville Junior College. Mr. Greenway enjoyed woodworking and painting in his spare time.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bette Norwood Greenway; sons, Scott Greenway with wife Monica, Stuart Greenway with wife Sandra, and Stanford Greenway with wife Maureen; a daughter, Shannon Perez with husband Al; Step-son, Paul Norwood with wife Janet; grandchildren, Katie-Britt Greenway Cacheiro-Hamdi with husband Nabil and Saxon Sa Greenway;  step-grandchildren, Jackson and Jacob Norwood; sister Michalann Evatt and husband Mike; niece and nephew Madelyn and Tate Evatt; and many more nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, Mr. Greenway was preceded in death by his step-mother, Norva Greenway; granddaughter, Kari Greenway; and brothers, Gary Greenway and Samuel Watson Greenway, Jr.

A private service will be held at a later date at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Sandy Plains, North Carolina.
