Sandra Darlene (Bell) Dixon

Sandra Bell Dixon, 75, of Pilot Mountain, passed away at Novant Forsyth Medical Center June 4, 2021. Born August 13, 1945, she was the daughter of Scottland and Comfort Green Bell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Ross Dixon; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom (Kristin) Dixon; two granddaughters, Hayley and Emily Dixon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marquita (Charles) Murphey, Theresa (Paul) McCoy; and a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Lane Dixon. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy Gene Dixon; two brothers, Kenneth Bumgarner, Douglas Bumgarner, and a sister, Juanita Sharts.

A devoted wife and mother, Sandra shared her loving qualities and time with her family. She stayed home with her sons when they were young and supported their endeavors in school and sports. She loved nature, watching birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds, gardening in her flower beds and long walks. She adored her grandchildren and loved laughing and smiling with them. Her cheerful ways will be sorely missed.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church of King. Family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery at 3343 Rosebud Road, Walnut Cove, NC 27052. Pastor Kevin Broyhill will be officiating.
