Sandra Hudspeth Obituary

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of God stands forever

-Isaiah 40:8

“Because I have a sister, I always have a friend.”

Sandra will live on in our hearts forever, and remembered as a loving, caring sister, friend and aunt.

She was born in Winston-Salem to Beatrice M. and Wade V. Vogler, Sr., and was one of six children.

Sandra was a graduate of West Forsyth High School and she attended NCSU.  She was employed at Baptist Hospital for many years in various capacities.  She completed the course, Physiology and Disease Process, through the hospital’s management training and education program. She was a very intelligent and competent person until bipolar and dementia took that all away

She was a true animal lover all of her life. Her last companion dog, best friend and protector, Maddie, was the smartest one in the family.  Sandra volunteered with Humane Society, AARF, and the Feral Cat Society of Winston-Salem as long as her health permitted.

Sandra is survived by sisters, Dennie Vogler Charland (Lou), Patricia V. Burke, Judy V. Bolin, and Betty V. Cusson (Rick); many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and their families; special friend, Edith Hudspeth, who she talked on the phone with for hours; friends from Cloverdale Apartments, Scott, Crystal, Mary, Willie, Dottie and many more.

She was preceded in death by her parents; older brother, Bud; infant brother, Robah Charles; special niece, Angie Essic and her dad, Jerry; special nephews, Mark Johnson and Eric Hicks.

A service for Sandra will be held at a later date.

Friends and family are welcome to stop by Dennie and Lou’s in Pinnacle for sharing memories and thankfulness for Sandra’s life or at Pat Burkes in Lewisville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra’s memory may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society and would be much appreciated.

Sandra is home now.

Because we know our citizenship is in Heaven, there is no more suffering

-Revelation 21:1
