Sharon Kay Tucker Lambert, 73, of Pilot Mountain, passed away at her home after a lengthy illness, November 5, 2021. Born April 16, 1948, she was the daughter of Lester Henderson and Georgie Bernice Childress Tucker. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 54 years, Weldon Lambert; three nephews; Michael Tucker, Randy Tucker, Brad Moorefield; a very special sister-in-law and caregiver, Tammy Lambert; a brother-in-law, Junior Moorefield; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, L. C. Tucker, and a sister, Vickie Moorefield.
Sharon was an active member of Simmon’s Grove Baptist Church and a member of the church choir. She was a wonderful steward to those in need, going on mission trips with her church and assisting from behind the scenes, which was her way. Sharon enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially cruises, and a favorite trip was a memorable cruise to Alaska. Gardening and cooking were also activities she thoroughly enjoyed. She worked as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service for 21 years. Her gentleness and generous heart will be deeply missed.
The family wishes to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and The Novant Cancer Treatment Center for their compassion and care since they began caring for Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 2:00PM at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Jacob Hall will be officiating.
