Mrs. Sheila Bottoms Poindexter, age 58, of Siloam, passed away on November 3rd, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born on July 3rd, 1966, in Forsyth County, to Lawrence Gray Bottoms and Carol Jean Bottoms.
Mrs. Poindexter had a deep love for everyone she met, always bringing kindness, warmth, and joy to those around her. She cherished her time at church, where her faith blossomed, and never missed an opportunity to share the message of Jesus with others. Her love for friends and family was boundless, and she was known for her caring heart and willingness to help anyone in need.
A dedicated nurse at Northern Surry, Mrs. Poindexter, was devoted to her patients, treating each one with compassion and respect. Her care extended beyond people, as she never met an animal she didn’t love. She took in every stray that crossed her path, tending to them with the same love she showed everyone in her life.
Mrs. Poindexter’s legacy of love, faith, and compassion will be cherished by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry Gray Poindexter; mother, Carol Jean Brinkley Bottoms; father, Lawrence Gray Bottoms; sister-in-law, Patricia Vanhoy Bottoms; best friends, Karen Brown Googe, Crystal Caudle, Pam Simmons, Angie Marion, Rachel Marion, and Dalida Bucknall; God daughters, Brittanie P. Whelan, Victoria P. O’Neal, and Elizabeth M. Googe; special cousins, Sally M. Taylor and Charles W. Mason; fur baby, Dudley Do Right Poindexter.
Mrs. Poindexter was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Jesse David Bottoms; maternal grandpa, Jesse G. Brinkley; maternal grandma, Bertie P. Brinkley; paternal grandpa, Porter W. Bottoms; paternal grandma, Hazel M. Bottoms.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, November 7th, 2024, at Westfield Friends at 2:00pm with Rev. Linda Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, from 1:00-2:00pm at Westfield Friends. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
