Shirley Audene Creed Wilson, 71, of Siloam, passed away February 11, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Born October 21, 1949, she was the daughter of Alvin and Loraine Phillips Creed. Left behind to cherish her memory are, her husband, Paul Wilson, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Michele (Nick) Sechrist of Ararat, NC; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky (April) Gunter of Mount Airy, John “Wayne” Gunter of Walnut Cove; grandchildren, Kasey(Wes) Harris, Kayla (Shane) Gammons, Adam(Destiny) Gunter, Eric Gunter, Nathan Gunter, Summer Gunter, Bella Gunter; great-grandchildren, Sophia Harris, Cecilia Harris, Greyson Harris, Cooper Gammons, Dixie Gammons, Adalee Gunter; step-daughters. Lora (Larry) Conner, Yvette (Bob) Goodwin; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Wilson, Zach (Rene) Wilson; step-great grandchildren, Ethan Wilson, Keylee Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Bryson Wilson, Caden Joyce; a brother, Dale Creed; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Charles) Marion; nieces, Shannon Hartley, Brandy Moser; nephews, Shane Creed, Jack Marion, Bryan Creed, Jason Creed; and a special friend, Denise Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A generous giver of her time and talents, Shirley raised her children, took care of her family, and cared for countless in her position as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Northern Hospital of Surry (now Northern Regional). She loved spending time with her family and friends but when she had time for herself, you’d likely find her with a paintbrush and palette of paints in her hand. Her warm and gentle nature will surely be missed by all those who loved her.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel. Bro. Jerry Pardue will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Dover Baptist Church cemetery. The family requests that attendees please wear masks and practice social distancing to aid in the prevention and spread of COVID-19. If not feeling well or running a fever, we ask you please refrain from attending.
