Stephanie (Blevins) Wood

Stephanie Blevins Wood, 66, of Pilot Mountain, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on June 22, 2020. Born March 24, 1954, she was the daughter of Ben and Shirley Gaye Eden Blevins.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, James “Eddie” Wood; her daughter, Marlana Evonne Wood; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Beno (Debbie) Blevins, Justin (Temple) Blevins; two sisters and brother-in-law, Constance Blevins, Vanessa (Mike) Grubbs; four grandchildren, Zenaya Jade Wood, Lucas James Wood-Armstrong, Stella Yvonne Arrington, Lettie Sue Arrington; and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Blevins and Susie Blevins.  Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeremy Edward Wood; three brothers, Gerald Blevins, Timothy “Toby” Blevins, Jeffrey Blevins; and one sister and brother-in-law, Mona Lisa (George) Tate.

Known for her gentle nature, warmth and welcoming manner, she played a vital role in helping to raise her siblings, and she continued to be a mother-figure to many.  She enjoyed digging in her flower beds, watching her little hummingbirds, and being outside fishing, whether at a pond or on a pier at the coast. 

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Gospel Baptist Church in Pinnacle.  A visitation will be held one-hour prior.  Pastor John Hylton will be officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family asks that everyone please continue to follow the social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 threat.
