Theodore McKinley Fulk, 86 of King passed away at home Sunday, December 27. Prior to retirement, Mr. Fulk was a long time employee of The Hastings Company in King where he served in numerous roles including Assistant Plant Manager. He was an avid salt and fresh water fisherman. He took many fishing trips to his beloved Outer Banks of North Carolina with family members, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law and many friends. He was a lifetime member of the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association.
Mr. Fulk is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee Fulk and Emily Southern Fulk; 3 brothers- Matthew Fulk, Vester Fulk, and Percy Fulk; 4 sisters- Pauline Dodson, Louise Pratt, Leomia Dodson, and “sister” Maggie Fulk.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Magdalene Walker Fulk; one brother Joseph Fulk and one sister, Hestella Bodenhamer; his son Randy Fulk and his wife Vivian.
At Mr. Fulk’s request, there will be no formal service. However, prior to declining health, Mr. Fulk was a dedicated walker, frequenting King Recreation Acres several times a week. Also in accordance with Mr. Fulk’s wishes, in lieu of cards or flowers, those wishing to remember and honor his life can make a donation in his memory to King Recreation Acres with a note indicating the funds are for maintaining the walking track so others may continue to enjoy walking and being outdoors.
