Virginia Ruth (Johnson) Peele

Virginia Ruth Johnson Peele of Siloam, passed away on July 12, 2022.

She was born in Wilkes County on February 27, 1932 to the late James Edgar Johnson and Julia Estep Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peele was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur C. Peele; her only child, Cathy Virginia Peele Edmonds; two sisters, Julia Mozelle Johnson and Avanelle Poindexter; and a brother, Hubert E. Johnson.

She is survived by two sisters. Agnes J. Carlyle and Audrey Scott; a grandson, Aaron (Brooke) Edmonds; two great grandchildren, Davis and Katherine Edmonds; half-brothers, E.J. (Karen) Johnson, Wayne (Dianne) Johnson, and Dale Johnson; and a half-sister Karon Ball.

Mrs. Peele retired from Sara Lee in Winston-Salem after many years of service.  She was known for her delicious chocolate cake, cookies, and fudge.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2:00pm at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Poindexter officiating.
