Mrs. Virginia Mae Jones Rogers, 76, of Pilot Mountain, passed away, unexpectedly, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem on January 21, 2021. She was born May 11, 1944 to Kyle Raymond and Lessie Arnold Jones. She later met and married, after a three-month whirlwind courtship, Quinton Herman Rogers. Quinton passed in November of 2020 and in keeping with their devoted love she has now joined him in Heaven. Virginia was retired as an Eligibility Supervisor with the Department of Social Services. She was an avid volunteer with American Red Cross and Senior Services. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger Rogers (Chris) Freeman, Kathy Rogers (Alfred) Key; four grandchildren, Tiffany Key, Lisanne Key, Casey Freeman, and A.J. Key, and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Hicks, Charlie Hicks, and Joel Key.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 56 years.
Mrs. Rogers will lie in state at Cox-Needham Funeral Home beginning on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, and everyday thereafter from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM until Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 12:30 PM.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens.
