Vivian Marie (Varner) Hutson

Vivian Marie Varner Hutson, age 87, of Eatonton, Georgia, formerly a 36-year resident of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 20, 2024, at Augusta Medical Center. She was born on April 6, 1937, in Guilford County, North Carolina, to the late John Melvin Varner and Mary Magdalene Carpenter Varner.

Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fletcher Wilbur Hutson, Sr.; her sisters, Nellie Wells, Ann Dye, Joan Harden, and Alice Hilton; and her brother, John Melvin Varner Jr.

Her loving family that is left to cherish her memory includes her daughters, Tina Marie Marshburn and Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Wray; her son, Fletcher Wilbur Hutson, Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Bryan, Richard, Emily, Kyle, Daniel, Adam, and Logan; and her 10 great-grandchildren. Vivian is also survived by her brothers, Michael Varner and Gerald Varner.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Sunday, August 25th, 2024, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior with Bryan Marshburn speaking and music by Daniel Wray. Following the service, Vivian will be laid to rest at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Dobson, North Carolina.
