Willie "Billie" Gray Lane

September 4,1927- July 15, 2021 On Thursday July 15, 2021, Willie Gray Lane, devoted husband of 76 yrs., father and grandfather, great grandfather and great- great grandfather passed away at the age of 93. He was born September 4,1927, in Surry County NC, to the late Marvin Gray Lane and Tennie Baker Lane. Prior to his retirement he was employed for Federal Crop Insurance where he was a USDA District Manager. Mr. Lane enjoyed writing stories and wood working. He was a faithful member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Willie is survived by his loving wife Velma Key Lane, a daughter, Sheryl Butcher (Max); a son, Donnie Lane (Joye); brothers, Alan Lane ( Glenda), Jackie Lane (Martha);six grandchildren; Jackie Ragland( James), Steven Lane (Mary), Joshua Lane( Christine), Nycole Collins, John Rusnak and Jacob Rusnak; eight- great grandchildren, Meagan Trent(Michael), Abbigail Ragland, Emilia Lane, Ethan Lane, Mason Lane, Amber Barr (Doyle), April Collins, and Lucas Rusnak; seven great-great grandchildren, Wyatt, Liam, Austin, Abbie, Jessie, Cameron, and Jayden. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his daughter Martha Rusnak; and son in law John Rusnak; grandson Jody Butcher; and a great- granddaughter, Evelyn Lane.

Graveside services will be held at Fairview United Methodist Church, August  2, 2021 at 11:00am.
