In 1974, we bought the Ardmore, Winston-Salem house that Ms. Betty lived in with her parents. Ms. Betty would often come back to the neighborhood to visit friends and we would ask her if she wanted to see her old house and she was always ready for a tour! She loved the things we did to the house! She was a lovely, cheerful lady and we are very sorry to hear of her passing - our sympathy to her family!

Wes, Tim, & Family,

I just came across Aunt Betty's obituary in the paper online. I am at a loss, and so sad to know she's no longer with us. She was a wonderful, generous, & funny lady - I will always cherish being able to spend time with her.

Aunt Betty and Barbara, my mom, were lifelong friends, having met at Ardmore School when they were kids. She was a gift to me after Mom's passing; she called me faithfully just to check in, and to chat a bit. She'd been on my mind lately, especially since I'd not heard from her in recent months.

I know she's in a better place - heaven is a bit brighter, filled with laughter and good times. She & Uncle Olin, Barbara Ann, Belle & Wesley (my grandparents) are together once again, sharing stories and memories of their years together.

My thoughts & prayers are with you all...
--Kim

Betty was a dear friend for many years. We both were secretaries of our Eastern Star Chapters at the same time and spent a lot of time on the telephone. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her..

After talking with my dear cousin, "Betty Jean", over a year ago, I was determined that we would get together soon. Unfortunately, that did not happen and I deeply regret it. I've loved Betty Jean since I was a young girl, visiting relatives in Winston-Salem from my home in New York. Her mother and my grandfather were sister and brother. It was always fun to visit Aunt May, Uncle John, and Betty Jean. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wes&Tim, and family... I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She and Olin were friends with my grandparents, Mary & Milford Spencer. There were many good laughs shared during their time of friendship & fellowship. And I always looked forward to their gatherings. I still miss my grandparents but they all have each other to laugh with now in heaven. The family is in my prayers, God bless each one.
