James Fuller Phillips

James Fuller Phillips, age 94, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on September 7, 2015, at Twelve Oaks Nursing Home.

He was born on October 27, 1920 in Surry County, NC to the late William Idle and Addie Lou Cain Phillips. 

Mr. Phillips was a charter member of Rescue Baptist Church, a retired farmer and carpenter.

Mr. Phillips is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Pat) Walker and husband, Don, Vickie Bowen and husband, Ricky; one son, Ricky Phillips; two brothers, Paul Phillips and wife, Glenda, Lonnie Phillips and wife, Shirley; two sisters, Eloise Wall, Peggy Lawrence and husband, Billy; four grandchildren, Forrest Walker, Amanda Bowen Hunter and husband, Jason, Jason Bowen, Jake Phillips and one great-grandchild, Hallie Hunter.

He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers, Sanford Phillips, Troy Phillips, Ebbie Phillips, Grover Phillips, Harvey Phillips; one sister, Essie Norman and one son-in-law, Wayne Walker.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 6:00 P.M. with Brother Tim Morrison officiating.  Interment will follow at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M.

Floral tributes may be made, or memorials may be given to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 400 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC  27030.
