Leon exemplifies the phrase " Who is Our Neghbor?" Christ answers was the person you saw in need. Leon would help anybody and not just the people of Woodille Community, but anyone in the general area. Leon was a "Friend" to my father, Thomas known to many as Tom. He befriended my mother, Bernice. He served on the local committee for the school of Westfield. Many people were skeptical in 1966 about the placement of their children in my mother's class. However Leon was progressive and showed a genuine love for people and never threat about the children. He had confidence in Bernice Lowe and spoke out on her behalf advocating she was an excellent teacher. I found him to advocate his beliefs strongly. He loved his family his son Steve and was very protective of him. He often explained Steve worked hard and was so tired when he would arrive home. He thought his grandsons were the moon and the stars. He would talk about them all the time. He loved his family. His sister's brought him much pride and you should not bother them. He was so proud of of Shannon and Joey. He always let me know how they were doing. How beautiful their offspring are. He and I share many experiences about life and family and I have lost a great friend. If you ever need a definition for friend just say Waler Leon Cain. He will sorely be missed. He and I would talked about how much he missed Ella Mae. He discusses her failing health and her fall He shared her final stay in hospital several times in conversation.

Then, he introduced me to Wanda and they seem so happy. I think he was happy with her like she was Ella Mae. They were quite different, although he showed the same love.
I would be remiss if I did not mention God and how he enjoyed listening to the church services from Woodville. He above all shared his faith in Christ. This is probably the most important thing we ever discussed.
Leon A Journey with the Lord
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road
To sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay....
Our destination is a place
Far greater than we know.

For some, the journey's quicker,
For some, the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends
We'll claim a great reward
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

Out of the place where
grief is the deepest,
through every shade,
May you walk in God's presence,
gently and graciously
led by His Light
and comforted by His promises.

In Sympathy and in Prayers

Love Always.

LaShene,
Thank you for your tribute to a great man. Like all of us, Leon thought the world of you and we are blessed to have you and your family in our lives. Your mother Mrs. Lowe will always have a special place in my heart as not only a phenomenal woman but a mentor. I can certainly say I feel the same way about you. Bless you so much for being there today. - Shannon

I will be forever grateful for Cain for the happiness he brought my mom. He was a wonderful, kind hearted man that will be missed by so many. The time mom and Cain had together was short but I know it was filled with love and compassion. People will come and go from your life and the reasons for each are sometimes a mystery. There was no mystery in why Cain and my mom found each other again, life finds a way to show you happiness if you are open to see it. I wish Cain could have stayed with us longer but I am thankful for the time he was in my life and the lives of my children.

Leon was a good guy who chased bad guys as a lawman for years then settled down in Woodville to be close to his family. I remember his big ole smile as he greeted folks to his store in Woodville. A loss for the community indeed!! His twin sisters have been friends since high school!
