Julia (Cardwell) Hester

Julia Cardwell Hester, age 43, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was born on January 3, 1973 in Forsyth County, NC to John Henry Cardwell, Jr. and Sheree Dolores Collins.

Mrs. Hester is survived by her loving husband, Dustin Wayne Hester; her parents; one daughter, Brittany Ann Anderson; one son, Samuel Clayton Hester; a special aunt whom she considered her sister, Billy (Tomi) Reep; aunts and uncles, Jimmy (Terrilyn) Collins, Gary (Shirley) Collins, and Donny Cardwell; cousins, Joey (Crystal) Semones, Jamie (Laura) Collins, Michael Webster, Taylor Collins, Bren Collins, Rudy Dearing, Tommy Semones, and Stephanie (Brian) Sisks; and many second cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lena and Bill Bryant and Norma and John Cardwell, Sr. and a cousin, Chris Semones.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church, Thomasville, NC at 2 P.M. with Rev. Jason Poe, Rev. Jon Boling, and Glyn Stewart officiating. Julia will lie in state at the church prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Internment will follow in the Thomasville City Historical Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain, NC from 6 to 8 P.M.
